What is a Fire Risk assessment?

A Fire Risk Assessment is a legal requirement for all non-domestic premises by the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 designed to evaluate your premises in terms of Fire Safety Hazards to people and property. An assessor visits your premises, makes a physical inspection and provides you with a clear and concise report. This report will detail a prioritized action plan on how to minimize identified risks. An assessment of less complex premises will usually take about a day.

There is no formal qualification required as legislation simply states that it should be carried out by someone who has ”sufficient knowledge, training, and other qualities”.
